Swansea Gladiators 12 Llanelli Warriors 12 (match 11)

Originaly meant as a trial match for the two clubs to work together, circumstances and rivalry prohibited this and a full match took place instead. Played on a poorly marked, unlight Waunarlwydd 2nd (or possibly 3rd) field on a wet murky evening with injured Warriors Andrew Russ forced to ref was never going to help the event become a success. Tempers flaired on a couple of occassions and it was a poor quality game. There where however some positives, not least the excellent try scored by Rob Bevan which Stephen Walley converted. Nigel Merrick and Jason Jenkins made debuts whilst a number of players gained experience in different positions (although it is unlikley to see Dai Newson at outside half again.) Lee Rowlands got the Warriors other try to ensure they shared the spoils.

The following snippets were the only press mentions as the game itself didn't warrant a full review. Both are from the Llanelli Star with pictures from the presentaion of jerseys by IWEC. Full details on the gallery blog (when it's up and running)
