Although the scoreline doesn't suggest it, and there was no doubting who the better team were, this was one of the Warriors better displays. They worked hard for their 10 points with Dai Spriggs scoring a neat drop goal. There was a lot of defending for the inexperienced team and they came through with their reputations in many ways enhanced.
A mid week fixture the Warriors had to borrow a couple of players whilst Llandybie put out their 2nd XV. Spencer Williams played his second match, moving in from wing to front row whilst alongside Llandybie players; Vivien Garrod, Roy Thomas and Jason Davies, Mathew Coelho made his debut. newson got the Warriors only try whilst Spriggs converted that and slotted the club's 2nd drop goal.
Warriors XV: Dai Spriggs, Robert Bevan, Dean Gilasbey, Vivien garrod (Mathew Coelho), Colin Talcon, Ken Davies, Gary James, Spencer Williams (Roy Thomas), Gwilym Lewis, Christopher Bonar, John Horwood, Stephen Walley, Raymond Millet, David Newson (cpt), Jason Davies
Scorers: Dai Newson (Try), Dai Spriggs (Conversion and drop goal)
