A very exciting match which the Warriors just edged. Caerphilly hooker Justin 'Mauler' Hughes appeared for both sides at some point but old head Gary James managed to steer the Warriors to victory. The Warriors played a jumbo back row with Dai Newson moving to openside to accomodate Keith Evans at 8. It didn't last though, Evans moved to prop in a reshuffle when James came on for Barry Williams. Barry and Justin made debuts.
Good way to round off the millenium.

Warriors XV: Lee Rowlands (Richard Griffiths), Colin Talcon (Justin Hughes), Dean Gilasbey, Lee Barber, Robert Bevan, Des Williams, Gwilym Lewis, Daryl Watkins (Nigel Merrick), Jason Jenkins, Barry Williams (Gary James), John Horwood, Stephen Walley, Raymond Millet, Keith Williams, Dai Newson.

Tries: Richard Griffiths, Lee Barber (2), Steve Walley.

Conversions: Des Williams, Steve Walley

Man of the match: Steve Walley
