The Betws team were given a physcological lift when veteran prop Alan Thomas was mistaken for one of the visiting Under 21s team who were playing their Stradey counterparts on the main field.
The vistors gained their 1st win in the series scoring 6 tries to 5 and had a hectic night in town celebrating. the match was played on the eve of the Wales - Ireland match which had been re arranged due to foot and mouth. (Tristan and Emyr Tim still owe pints for their positive write ups)
