Dai Cow crashes
The last match of the season (or possibly the 1st match of the next season) saw the Warriors and Gladiators meet as part of Rupert Moons testimonial day at Stradey.
The day also served as 'Hen night' for Heol Goffa clerk Dai 'Cow' Bevan (note last photo)
A large crowd of 3000 turned out for Rupert Moon's testimonial match on a wonderful summers day. Alun Wyn Bevan provided live commentary of the match but unfortunatley players didn't have the correct jerseys which resulted in Gwilym Lewis getting credited with des' tries. Williams crossed twice ealry on to establish a lead but the Gladiators fought back strongly. Paul Picton, who had been watching in the crowd, turned out in the second half and helped save the result. the Warriors were alos lucky to have a couple of players who were on placement with the Princes trust at Heol Goffa. As well as the Challenge Shield, Rupert Moon got sponsors Walkabout pubs to provide a trophy.
There was also an axeman display and dancers, as well as 3 other rugby matches on a real carnival day. dai Spriggs made the most of the day, kicking conversions for the Llanelli side.
