Press coverage from Star.

The 1st match jinx of the season struck again for the Warriors as they slipped to a narrow defeat to Asda. Shed tours to Amsterdam must take some of the blame and a family tiff meant only Dai played so there were a number of players missing. Adrain Payne, Nigel Merrick and Jason Jenkins spent the game subbing with each other which didn't help either.
Andrew Evans made his debut and had to get 'stuck in' in the usual Asda/Warriors tradition. Duncan 'Blynea' Price referred and brought his usual unique style. For those who had never had the pleasure of duncan's interpretation before; he's always that good! He doesn't usually take quick line outs but falling over a player (Dai Newson) is quite typical.

There was a good crowd even with out Bonars and Warriorettes as Jason's fan club had come to take him out on the town. There was the usual after match cock up with where to drink but eventually Lee Walley got us into the Electric club. There birthday boy/man of the match/yo yo sub Jason Jenkins led the 'sing song' (ie endless chrouses of Happy Birthday). He decided that a good sump from the same pint counts as 'on the head' and by 7 was singing 'show me the way to go home.' (still made town though!) Not to be outdone Duncan gave a moving speech on his admiration for the Warriors.
