Match report (was never submitted to the press):

Another high scoring entertaining game and another local scalp for the Warriors as they scored 6 tries to beat Furnace in the clubs 1st encounter.
Without the pressures of league points both sides took the opportunity to throw caution to the wind resulting in a flowing game with some fine passages of play.
Furnace took an early lead but the Warriors hit back and stayed in front for the rest of the match. The 1st half was somewhat lackluste as the Furnace side were guilty of taking the game a little flippantly and some weak tackling aided the Warriors cause.
In the 2nd half the tempo picked up and whilst the Warriors dominated territory, Furnace scored some fine long range tries mainly through their wings and full back.
Lee 'Boy Band' Jones led the Warriors scoring, equlling the club record with a hatrick to claim man of the match. It says something for the club's strength in depth that they were able to increase the pace in the backline when Mike Spriggs replaced Jones. Center Alun Stephens hacked through for a try and scrum half Tony Sessini scored on his debut. The pack however laid the platform for this victory. Mobile forwards Roger Thomas, Jason Jenkins and Darren Davies were the perfect foil for Andrew Evans and Chris Hancock. Horwood rucked well and Walley's tackiling was evident. Captain Dai Newson may have got the forwards only score but their efforts were crucial.
In the backs Talcon and Rowlands caused problems and full back dai Spriggs, who had an active match slotted 4 conversions to round off the scoring in this open game.
Warriors XV: Dai Spriggs, Meredith Pugh (Lee Rowlands), Lee Jones (Mike Spriggs), Alun Stephens, Colin Talcon, Des Williams, Tony Sessinin, Andrew Evans, Jason Jenkins, Roger Thomas (Darren Davies), Steve Walley, Chris Hancock (John Horwood), Mike James, Dai Newson (Cpt), Gwilym Lewis.

Reading between the lines: Lee Boy Band was subbed so he couldn't beat the club scoring record. Roger and Darren were playing their 1st games in the forwards having previously played on the wing, Walley probaly managed a tackle.
After the match Dai Nusiance and Jumpin' John Horwood were presented with certificates to celebrate their 50th apperances.
