The Warriors won an exciting game at Betws for the start of a rugby marathon which took in Italy - Scotland, Ireland - e**land and France - Wales, as well as a fancy dress disco.
A match report follows the photos but as ever there wasn't enough room to mention everything: Simon bouncing both Juice and then Bloc but spoiling a fine performance with a yellow card and a match winning pwdi (hard luck Louie, nice try though). juice show and go missing an open line, Gareth Lewis (Betws) just falling over once Billo ran into the same 22 as him, Tony actually making a tackle, Rich Griff managing to appear for both sides and ref part of the game and Lewis with a try saving intervention. Congratulations to Killer and Tarw for being selected as Captains for both sides

The Llanelli Warriors managed to triumph in an exciting match at Betws on the weekend, the result only decided with the last move of the game.
Led out by prop Colin Talcon, on the occasion of his 100th appearance, the Warriors were obviously up for the encounter, while Betws looked just as determined throughout.
Betws were led by sometimes Warrior No8 Simon Jenkins and featured extremes of youth (Nathan Jones) and experience (scrum half Mark Bolan) in an experimental squad. Jon Kerr stood in as Warriors skipper while half backs Dean Gilasbey and Jon Jones resumed their successful partnership.
Both sides looked to keep the ball alive and there wasn’t a line out until late in the second half. The Warriors looked dangerous early on with full back Mathew Jones bamboozling the Betws defence with some weaving runs. They missed some early opportunities before prop James Dew crossed wide out. The packs were getting fully involved and the new look Betws front row was a revelation, showing Italian graft and French flair they provided some magic moments while new Warriors no8 Rowlands roamed the field menacingly.
Betws hit back soon after though. Simon Jenkins helped relive the pressure with some strong running and eventually second row Mathew Rees crashed over. Jenkins converted and Betws continued to dominate. Centres Alan and Gavin Thomas gave them plenty of forward momentum but it was their other lock, Owen Williams who extended their lead with a neat try. Betws scored again before the break but Jason Bennett got over for the Warriors with a typical charge.
The game then was evenly poised at the break. The Warriors introduced Roger Thomas at lock while Betws moved Gareth Lewis to scrum half. The Warriors seemed to benefit more and spent long periods deep in Betws territory. Andrew John and Gareth Davy began to cause problems in midfield but Betws scored again through Nathan Jones, marking a fine debut alongside his father Paul. The game was very open even at this late stage and play moved quickly from end to end. The Warriors moved the length of the field only for Jon Kerr to be brought down inches short from the line. Tony Whittaker went close on one wing before Richard Griffiths finally got the Warriors a score on the other side. Betws almost hit back immediately with a sweeping move which saw Mathew Rees just forced into touch.
Back on the attack Whittaker crossed for the Warriors to leave the game on a knife edge, the winning score came only after the referee had called last play and fell to flanker Gwilym Lewis, crashing to take the spoils.
