2nd visit of the season to Burry Port and another victory. Dai Newson celebrated his 100th (consecutive) apperance with a try before everyone moved to the club house to see Wales 4th leg of the 6 Nations - Scotland away. Again auction and raffle money went towards the tour. A number of the Warriors featured for Burry Port during the game with approximatley 30 players now able to claim 'dual membership' of both clubs. In fact most of the players who scored for Burry Port: Andrew Slim, Phil Williams and Jon Kerr have featured for the Warriors at some time.
MATCH REPORT: Burry Port 22 Llanelli Warriors 34

The Warriors triumphed in this entertaining match at the Memorial ground on Sunday to continue their recent good from. The Warriors were led out by David Newson who was making his 100th appearance, not having missed a match in 9 seasons.
This obviously inspired the Warriors and they raced into an early lead with excellent tries from Jon Jones and Andrew John before Burry Port had a chance to settle. The Blacks did come back into the game but strong defence with Paul Jayseab to the fore held keep them at bay and the Warriors extended their lead when Alan Taylor crossed out wide.
The Blacks couldn’t be denied for too long though and Andrew Slim them off the mark when he scorched over in the corner quickly folwed on the other wing by Phil Williams. The rugby continued to ebb and flow in a very entertaining half. The home side were able to put a lot of pressure on the Warriors lineout with a big presence up front whilst Pugh and Edwards put a lot of work into both attack and defence.
The second half was little less structured but Kerr scored a fine try for Burry Port despite the efforts of Simon Jenkins and the Blacks edged themselves in front. The Warriors had their backs to the wall for periods but managed to stay in touch with Roger Thomas getting through a huge amount of work at the rucks and mauls. Eventually they hit back with Taylor getting a second under the posts. Then inevitably the veteran himself Dai Newson made the game safe with a blockbusting run, scoring his 49th try on his 100th appearance. Dai Spriggs added a conversion to the earlier efforts of Jenkins and Kerr to complete the scoring. David Newson was pipped to man of the match by David Edwards but the team rumbles on through it’s 10th season and have now gone 8 games without defeat.
